Your voice-driven AI assistant
Activate MAX from the ☰ Menu to begin
Tap Record, then say “MAX” as many ways as you like — every saying becomes a tag the moment she hears it (up to 20; the oldest are replaced after that). Tap Stop when done. She only wakes on the saved tags.
Stops songs, videos and Plex dialogue from waking MAX or firing commands. In Guarded mode the music ducks down while you talk to him. “STOP STOP” always works.
⚠ Speech recognition uses Chrome’s own default mic (separate from the Windows default). If she hears nothing, pick the right device at chrome://settings/content/microphone or via the 🎤 icon in the address bar.
MAX speaks with your Fish Audio voices. If Fish is ever unavailable, she automatically falls back to a free built-in voice so she never goes silent.
Loading usage…
Backup: a free built-in voice, used only if Fish Audio is briefly unavailable.
Used for directions: with a map open, say “show me directions” — answer “yes” to route from this address, or “no” to name a different starting point.
Extra labelled addresses — e.g. Work, Holiday Home. (Your main Home is the field above.)
Where you are right now — from your device’s GPS if you allow it, otherwise an approximate estimate from your IP address.
MAX will use your name in upcoming features.
✅ Connected — your Home Assistant is built in (ha.tgnet.com.au), stored securely on the server. No setup needed.
Choose which devices MAX controls, give each a short name to say (e.g. “kitchen light”) and a location. Opens full-screen so you can see them all at once.
Bind several devices under one command. Say the group name with “turn on/off” — e.g. “turn off techroom lights” switches every device in that group at once.
Add the YouTube channels you enjoy. Then say “let's watch a random video” and I'll pick a recent upload from one of them.
Keeps replies to 1–2 sentences — quicker to think and quicker to read aloud.
Advanced: leave blank for the default (grok-4.3). The AI provider is auto-detected from the server-side key — Grok (xAI, paid credits) or Groq (free tier).
Tick a widget to show or hide it. Drag a widget by its title bar to move it and drag its bottom-right corner to resize — each widget’s own ⚙ sets what it shows.
Widgets are colour-coded by group in the 🧩 menu. Change a widget's group from its own ⚙. Add groups and pick each colour here.
Voice routines that open a saved arrangement and read out your day. Save arrangements from the 🧩 widgets menu (💾), then pick one here.
Say “let’s play some music” — MAX opens your playlists with album art, song search and playback controls. The app key is stored safely on the server (api/spotifysecret.php) where the browser can’t read it.

✅ Connect / re-approve Spotify ↗
Spotify no longer lets apps read your playlist song-lists directly (their developer policy). This grabs every song from your public playlists once and stores them locally, so the 🎵 Spotify Music widget can show and play each track. Re-run it whenever you change a playlist.
When you say “search for a price for …”, MAX shows these stores. One per line as Name | URL, with {q} where the search term goes.
Shape how she talks in “Let’s chat” mode — say “let’s chat” to start and “end conversation” to stop. Drag each slider toward the side you want.
Who she is — she’ll describe herself this way in conversation. Edit any field.
Tap a tag once for a 💚 like, again for a 💔 dislike, once more to clear. These colour how she chats. Add your own below.
Recolours everything — every widget frame, the menu, supplement windows, settings, buttons and glows. Pick one and the whole of MAX changes instantly. Your choice is saved to your account.
Sets the font and size across every widget, live. Each widget can override this from its ⋯ → Settings with “Use custom fonts & sizes”.
Calms the animations — the pulsing orb, radar sweep, spinners and slide/fade transitions — for a stiller screen.
How solid the widget panels are — slide left for a glassier, more see-through look, right for fully solid.
Softly dims the whole screen for night-time viewing on a bright wall display — slide right for dimmer. It never blocks taps or clicks. 0 = off.
When nothing's touched for a while, MAX fades to a big clock & date in your theme colour — ideal on a wall screen. Move the mouse, tap or press a key to bring everything back. It never covers music or video, or MAX while he's speaking.
During quiet hours MAX won't speak his unprompted alerts — the sign-in “new version” readout and the free-game / disaster heads-ups. They still appear on screen, and your own voice commands and morning briefings work as normal.
For an always-on screen (like a wall display): once a day at this hour MAX quietly reloads itself, so it never goes stale and picks up the latest version overnight. It waits until MAX isn't speaking and nothing's playing. Off by default.
Silence MAX right now for a set time — handy during a call or when you need quiet. Answers still appear on screen, and it switches itself back on automatically. (For a nightly schedule, use Quiet hours above instead.)
Save all your MAX settings — layouts, arrangements, widget data, theme and more — to a file, and restore them later or on another device. (Passwords and connector keys are never included.)
Signed in.
Change your password below — you’ll need the current one. Passwords are at least 8 characters and protect every device you sign in on.
Lock keeps you signed in but asks for a tap to re-enter on this device. Log out returns this device to the sign-in screen.
Everyone who can sign in to MAX. Reset a password (they’ll be asked to pick their own next sign-in) or choose exactly which widgets each user can see.
Every time a user signed in to MAX, with their IP address and device. Newest first.
Stored on the server — the same totals on every device and session. Your exact account balance is at console.x.ai.
Everything you coach MAX to remember lives here. Facts are things it recalls (a number, a date); Instructions are rules it follows (e.g. “stop asking me that”). Coach it by voice (“remember…”, “memorise the number…”, “stop asking me…”) or add one below.
Type a question or command — exactly the same as saying it out loud.
Tick to let MAX control it · Name = what you say · Location = groups it on screen. Saves automatically.
You’ll say “turn on/off this name”. Pick the devices it controls:
Say “stop recording note” to save, or “cancel the note” to discard — or use the buttons.
Say “submit log to Claude” when you’re done, or “cancel the log” to discard.
Everything MAX is trained to understand. This dictionary grows as new features are added — you can also say “what can I say” to open it.
Say “MAX, have a look at this” to open the camera, then “take a photo” — it saves here. Click a photo to view it full-size.
Nothing here yet — ask MAX something first.
Things you asked me to hold onto. Pin more by saying “pin” and the code on any item (e.g. “pin G22”).
Nothing saved yet — say “pin” and an item’s code to keep it.
Press ▶ Play sample and adjust while she talks — tone, space and volume change live. Pitch is instant on the Google voices; on the lifelike Neural voices the sample replays with the new pitch when you let go of the slider.
Tone, space and volume apply to the Cloud and Neural voices (they run through her audio processor). The plain browser voice only supports pitch and speed.
